I’ve spent my fair share of days living pay check to paycheck, and now working towards financial indepence and self employment, budgeting is key. Like any new venture, there is going to be some sacrifices. But, you can still indulge and enhance your writing sessions while staying under budget.

One thing I won’t skimp on is coffee, even if I can’t go to Starbucks. I’ve been a barista almost as long as I’ve been a writer and I used to think I was a total coffee snob.

It’s pronounced esssspresso not exxxxpresso!

Anyway, sometimes you still crave a fancified caffeine treat versus a regular cup of Joe, and one of my weaknesses is Cold Press Coffee. But what if you don’t have the time or means to professionally cold brew coffee? Well, check out this recipe for no-fail, easy cinnamon honey iced coffee. Don’t care for cinnamon and honey, no worries, you can add whatever sweeteners you like.

What You’ll Need

A glass bowl

A lot of Ice (enough to fill most of the bowl)

Regular Brewed Coffee

Milk

Cinnamon

Honey

A Mason Jar or other air tight container

Water

Step One: Brew a regular pot of coffee.

Step 2: Pour said brewed coffee in a mason jar or other airtight container.

Step 3: Fill glass bowl with ice, water and salt. The magic question is what proportions? You want your ice to fill most of the bowl, and you want enough water to make it nice and sloshy. It’s recommended to used up to a ½ cup of salt, but if you don’t want to use that much, a healthy dose of salt would be plenty.

Step 4: Submerge your Coffee Carafe in the salty ice bath.

Step 5: While the coffee hyper cools, put a tablespoon of honey (less if you don’t want it too sweet) in your preferred cup of choice. Add cinnamon, I love the stuff so I probably used about ½ a teaspoon. Stir together to combine.

Step 6: Add Milk. I poured up to a third of my glass. More milk = weaker coffee taste. Stir to combine the honey and cinnamon mix.

Step 7: After a few minutes take your coffee mason jar and dump out your ice bath, pour coffee over the milk mixture. Leave a small amount of room at the top. Add ice, stir, and enjoy.

Top notch Iced coffee in no time. Now go get writing!
